Description: Lauterborn, R. (1896) Diagnosen neuer Protozoen aus dem Gebiete des Oberrheins. Zoologischer Anzeiger 19: 14–18.

Distribution: cosmopolitan, widely distributed.

NoteChrysosphaerella multispina is regarded as a synonym of C. longispina.
